AM 1400 is the Puget Sound Region's only business/talk station. With award winning business programming and issue oriented talk radio, the spectrum is covered for you to be entertained or educated.
History
AM 1400's business/talk formula evolved out of a fascinating series of transitions and redefining moments:
- 1985 issued a license by the FCC and granted permission to relocate the transmitter to Silverdale, WA.
- 1986 purchased by Silversound Broadcasting Co. and aired Adult Contemporary tunes.
- 1995 sold to Kitsap Broadcast Group Inc. The station format was changed to Modern Country.
- 2000 sold to KITZ Radio, Inc. The station format was now News/talk.
KITZ is affiliated with:
- KGTK / AM 920 Olympia-Seattle, Washington
- KBNP / AM 1410 Portland, Oregon
- KSBN / AM 1230 Spokane, Washington
Transmitter
The Megatalk KITZ transmitter site is located on the Kitsap County Fairgrounds, adjacent to the new Baseball Stadium. 1000 watts of pure talk radio are pumped through the 230 foot transmitter tower and into your radio.
